Well hello summer

As the journey in yoga continues, I find my relationship with food adjusting. No surprise here. In Yoga training, it is said that you are what you eat. So being mindful in choosing foods has been a breathe of fresh air. There is a deeper sense of love and appreciation for what to buy and eat. It is with a keen intention to only and simply nourish the temple. I find that when I indulge in foods that are grains, my strength is heightened. Breads create a sense of heaviness for me so I indulge very little. Fruits and vegetables are my go to. I feel full, and light enough to follow and listen to my asanas and pranayama.
There is no one perfect person who does not struggle or get frustrated on this journey. I find myself exhausted from over practice and have to take a step back. During that time, I explore with food. This is also my happy place lately. For a long time my husband has been the chef in our household. But as I journey on, my love for cooking and exploration of different ways to eat healthy has been heightened. Can't wait to see what else is in store.
